PITTSBURGH — 2011 second-team All-SEC pick Ryan Baker, who originally signed as an undrafted free agent with Tampa Bay following the NFL Draft in April but was released on May 7, has been added to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster on Thursday.

He had 58 tackles (3.5 for loss) and 1.5 sacks last season for LSU, and 87 tackles (11 for loss) and seven sacks during his junior year.

The 5-foot-11, 232-pound Baker is still considered a long shot to make the Steelers’ opening day roster because of the depth they have at the position. NFL teams’ current rosters are still over the maximum.

Other former LSU players playing for the Black and Gold include 11-year safety Ryan Clark and defensive end Al Woods, a former 5-star prospect who has spent parts of the last two seasons with Tampa Bay, Seattle and now Pittsburgh.
