Cornerback Chris Hardeman is LSU’s second commitment for 2014

Fresh on the heels of linebacker Kain Daub’s commitment to Les Miles and LSU on Saturday, 5’9 cornerback Chris Hardeman from Houston has given his verbal pledge to the Tigers.

Hardeman’s father Don Hardeman, assistant coach for his high school team, played under coach LSU defensive line Brick Haley. Don was drafted in the first round of the 1975 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers, and he is intent on passing on that football IQ to his son.

“We are constantly looking at film and different scenarios to see how we can overcome any situation,” Chris Hardeman said.

Hardeman is built more along the lines of current LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu instead of the tall, long defensive backs new secondary coach Corey Raymond has targeted. Hardeman is reportedly aggressive and a ball-hawker, much like Mathieu.
