BIRMINGHAM — Days after the coaches’ All-SEC team was released, the media has released their version of the team and has also picked their favorite to win the Southeastern Conference.

Thirteen LSU football players were selected by the media to the preseason All-SEC teams, while the Tigers were picked in a surprising landslide to repeat as SEC Champions, it was announced Thursday morning from Birmingham and the SEC Media Days.

Defensive lineman Bennie Logan, conspicuously left off the coaches’ All-SEC team, was selected to the third team by the media. Center PJ Lonergan and defensive back Tharold Simon  were also left off the coaches’ teams but made second and third teams, respectively, as selected by the media.

Odell Beckham Jr., who earned second team preseason honors by the coaches, was not voted on by the media.
